Calling All Los Alamos Bicyclists!

All,
This Thursday, September 10th at 6:00PM, the Los Alamos County Council will be meeting to discuss Capital Expenditures for FY16.  The Tuff Riders have decided to put our hat in the ring by requesting a percentage of those funds be used to build a bike park at Pajarito, similar to the one found at Angelfire.

That may sound like a pipe dream, but the current council is very amenable to ideas for increasing tourism and mountain biking has piqued their interest.  We believe that providing a professionally-built alternative to Angelfire would draw crowds from Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and beyond.  These crowds would have a positive economic influence on many of the hotels and small businesses in town, and set a precedent for mountain biking tourism as a positive influence in Los Alamos.

If you've got the time to drop in and voice your support for these improvements to Pajarito Mountain, we'd really appreciate it.  Public comments will be handled first, so please arrive early if you'd like to make a statement.  Opinions are absolutely welcome but we'd also like to give the council some hard facts about mountain bike tourism.

Thanks,
Chris (from Tuff Riders)

p.s. If you can't attend, you can send your $0.02 via countycouncil@lacnm.us
