As Reported by the Daily Post, Council Votes 6-1 for the Zimmerman Option on NM502

Rather than steal Carol Clark's thunder, I'll refer you to the newly minted Los Alamos Daily Post for the details. And, I'd like to thank Kyle for his efforts wading through the Trinity Drive process. As I have told him, he should get that consulting fee.

Megakudos and many virtual beers go from LA Bikes to County Engineer Kyle Zimmerman for pulling this off. This writer has often wondered why we spend so much on outside consultants when we have a damn good staff here at home. The Zimmerman Option, so called because Kyle knitted it together as a synthesis of the best elements of the existing proposals (in my estimation) was the one approved by the Transportation Board at the disputed 19 Jan meeting. Council, however, can approve what it wishes regardless of whether the T Board goofed in its handling of Kyle's initial presentation.

This may fix a short section of Trinity, but I would like to see a comprehensive plan to help more cyclists ride out to the increasing number of destinations at the Airport Basin.

ON the national front,

House Transportation Bill Too Extreme for Some Republicans

And, of course, congrats and best wishes to Carol Clark on her new endeavor, the Daily Post.
